The stress of our fast-paced modern world can, and often does, take a toll on a person’s health.
The ups and downs of everyday life inevitably affect the mind and the body.
Everyone feels at times stressed out; however you do not need to suffer, as there are many special treatments which can alleviate these ailments.
Soft Tissue Mobilization is a form of manual physical therapy that uses hands-on techniques on muscles, ligaments and fascia with the goal of breaking or reducing adhesions, or inelastic / fibrous muscle tissue (called 'myofascial adhesions'), improving range of motion, lengthening muscle and tendon, reducing swelling and Oedema (edema) and optimizing muscle function.
Implementation of soft tissue mobilization techniques requires a significant amount of training in human anatomy and physiology and understanding of how manipulating the tissues will impact physical function. The treatment involves an evaluation, assessment and treatment of movement function disorders. Soft tissue mobilization is just one of the strategies that we use to help our patients meet their functional goals.
We take a brief medical history and identify the reason for the treatment. We recommend clients to arrive a few minutes early as this forms part of the first treatment.
Postural & Bio-Mechanical Assessment
We may carry out a postural or bio-mechanical assessment to access global muscles and their effects on the presented symptoms and conditions.
