Some medications have to be out of your system for a certain amount of time before we can treat.
Check with your GP if you are taking prescription medication.

Photo Sensitive Medication – 4 to 12 weeks
Chlorpromazine (tranquilliser) – 2 weeks

St John’s Wort – 4 to 6 weeks

Cancer Medication – 6 to 12 months

What will it involve?
Your skin care practitioner will complete a thorough consultation to establish your skin care goals and the best treatment program to suit you.
Due to the intensity of this treatment, homecare and down time a consultation is essential to plan this treatment into your daily routine.
Once you are satisfied with the treatment slected the treatment can commence.
The skin is cleansed and prepared for the herbal peel procedure.
Natural herbs are deeply massaged into your skin to exfoliate the surface and to promote absorption of the active ingredients.
Once the excess herbs are removed, the immediate improvement is obviously visible.
Following treatment, the skin can appear red and a sensitive, tight skin sensation, similar to mild sunburn will be experienced which can last up to 2 days.
Peeling usually starts on the 3rd day then by the 4th day layers of dead skin are shed. On the 5th day, you attend a post peel treatment to remove the remainder, revealing the fresh, clear and younger looking skin, which is finally soothed and conditioned.

Does it hurt?
Some discomfort is usually experienced during the massage of the herbal mask application; care is taken to make it as comfortable as possible.
A sensation of mild sunburn will be experienced immediately post treatment for up to 2 days, followed by skin tightening and dryness whilst the dead skin is peeling.

How many treatments do I need?
A single treatment provides outstanding results. However, depending on your skin condition and your skin goals you may need a further treatment to achieve desired results.

How quickly will I see the results?
You will see results immediately; however due to the 5 day peeling process the skin will appear dull, dry and flaky during day 3 to day 5 until the completion of the post peel when the true results become visible.

How long will the results last?
The results can last up to a year. However this depends on many factors such as how one cares for one’s skin post treatment, the severity of one’s natural oil production, diet, stress, hormone influences and lifestyle.

The skin will appear red and feel sensitive like a mild sunburn up to 2 days, followed by dry, sensitive and peeling skin for a further 3 days post peel treatment.

During the 5 day peeling process:
Do not to apply water to the area of the treated skin.
Only use the products provided by your skin care practitioner.

AM & PM
Use Dr Shrammek Herbal Care Lotion on cotton wool to gently wipe the skin clean.
Apply the prescribed Dr Shrammek cream.
When the cream has absorbed apply the Dr Shrammek Blemish Balm.
Follow this homecare procedure for the 5 days until your post peel treatment.
Treat the skin as a sensitive skin.
Avoid exposure to the sun.
Avoid heat treatments.
Avoid sweating.
No swimming.
Then, for a healthier skin our skin care practitioner will guide you with a personlised home care skin regime.
Use an SPF daily.
