What will it involve?
Your practitioner will complete a detailed consultation to establish the scale of stains on your teeth and your teeth whitening improvement goals, all of which will determine the most suitable treatment plan for you.
It is strongly advised to attend a dental hygienist treatment and do home flossing prior to treatment to achieve best results.
Commencing treatment, using the VITA teeth guide your teeth shade is noted.
A gum shield pre-filled with a specially formulated teeth whitening gel (much the same as a sports gum shield) is put into your mouth, ensuring the gel covers all of your teeth.
Then the application of an arch design lamp head is used to provide the widest irradiation range to the teeth, where the advanced LED lamp can emit a high intensive cold blue light to activate the gel and penetrate deep into the teeth.
Post treatment, using the VITA teeth guide, the teeth shade is noted to reveal the number of shades lighter.
Why have the procedure?
This provides a successful procedure to safely remove stains on the teeth. It provides outstanding results in the reduction of stain caused by:
• Red wine
• Certain foods
• Tea or coffee
• Medicines, such as tetracycline (antibiotic), or speckled by fluoride
Does it hurt?
Generally no pain is felt. However, you may experience some discomfort from the teeth whitening gel as it can seep onto the gums. Care is taken to make it as comfortable as possible by pre-applying bonjela to protect gums.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
Most customers find one treatment sufficient. But if the teeth are extremely stained a further session is advised to achieve optimum results, preferably 1-2 weeks after the first treatment.
How quickly will I see the results?
The teeth will appear whiter immediately after a single treatment with an average result of 8 shades on the VITA teeth guide used by dentists. Results are progressive over a series of treatments.
How long will the results last?
Following treatment the teeth will appear whiter and brighter for several months. However this depends on many factors, such as how one cares for the teeth post treatment, diet, and lifestyle.
