What will it involve?
Your skin care practitioner will complete a detailed consultation to establish your skin type, history and the cause of the pigmentation, all of which will decide the best De-pigmentation program to suit you.
The Cosmelan De-pigmentation treatment process consists of two phases:
First, the Cosmelan treatment mask is applied at the clinic by a qualified skin care practitioner.
Second, due to the length of time the treatment mask has to be left on the skin (8 -12 hours) you will need to remove it at home. It is essential to continue the treatment program at home by applying the Cosmelan 2 skin lightening treatment product along with the homecare products as advised.
We provide two options of the de-pigmentation treatment program to suit your skin condition and lifestyle.
The Cosmelan De-pigmentation program provides quick and effective results for deeper, established pigmentation; it is an intense procedure whereby visible peeling and sensitivity can last 7 to 14 days.
The Melanostop Peel provides effective results for lighter pigmentation, a less intense procedure whereby micro peeling can last 1 to 2 days.
As the Melanostop Peel process is easier to fit in to your busy life it can provide an alternative treatment in the reduction of pigmentation. However more sessions would be required over a longer period of time.
Why have the procedure?
We successfully treat pigmentation caused from excessive sun exposure, UV artificial light exposure; pigmentation caused by hormone changes, trauma or stress and birthmarks.
These treatments are suitable for all skin types and ethnic origins to treat the Face, Neck, Chest and Hands and produces outstanding results in the treatment of:
• Pigmentation
• Dark Patches
• Uneven Skin Tone
• Sun damage
• Post Spot Scars
Also known to improve skin conditions such as:
• Acne
• Blackheads, Spots, Pimples
• Fine Lines
• General signs of ageing skin
• Dull looking skin
If you are undertaking a course of peel treatments, it is very common for underlying deep congestion to work to the surface of the skin. It is advised to add Steam and Pore Extraction, which will enable us to remove any blockage as it appears.
Does it hurt?
There is no discomfort during the application of the Cosmelan De-pigmentation or the Melanostop treatment mask.
A day after treatment a sensation of skin tightening, sensitivity and inflammation can be experienced; the severity of these symptoms will depend on the treatment taken and each individual’s reaction.
Continuous clinic support is available during the program to guide each individual through the process.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
A single Cosmelan De-pigmentation treatment provides outstanding results; however depending on your skin condition and your skin improvement goals you may need a further treatment to achieve desired results.
A course of 5 Melanostop De-pigmentation Peels taken 7 to 14 days apart are advised to achieve best results.
How quickly will I see the results?
The results of the Cosmelan De-pigmentation are evident within a week and are progressive whilst using the Cosmelan 2 treatment homecare cream; it is imperative to complete the program as advised by your practitioner to achieve optimum results.
The results of the Melanostop De-pigmentation Peels are much slower and progressive over the course of treatments.
How long will the results last?
The results can be maintained; however this will depend on many factors such as, how one cares for their skin post treatment, stress, hormone influences and UV exposure.
